Only setting up a site is not a big thing. The problem is to move the site forward. To keep the site going. The marketing is obviously biggest part to take care of.

Great ideas are always a good start, however, you still need good content in mind. Always start a blog about a topic you are pretty knowledgeable about. Do not start a blog on something you have no clue about. Correct spelling and grammar is pretty important too. Being expressive is a must as tacky and well-written, well-expressed entries get read and digged alot more.
