Default Motivation Is The Key to Self Improvement

People are often motivated by pain and loss. Debts remind us of our shortcomings in regards to planning ahead and flunking out of our classes make us realize that we need to spend more time studying. Dealing with a humiliation often makes us realize that we can be stronger.

When life deals us with a blow it's often just the shock we need to break us from our inactivity and create self improvement in our life.

It's usually an uncomfortable feeling dealing with these struggles but as we later find out it's often the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves.

Here's some tips to help you cope with the hard times and come out stronger then ever before...

1. Achieve your dreams by surrounding yourself with like minded people. Use the law of attraction and befriend postive people with the same motivational aspirations as you. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

2. Believe in yourself always, and in what you can achieve.

3. Motivation comes from determination. View the world from all angles and aspects and understand that to truly know life, you should feel the sun from all sides.

4. Make motivation your steering wheel. Never give up and never give in. Thomas Edison failed omany times before he came up with his invention and created the incandescent light bulb.

5. Motivation takes place when people are happy. Follow your passions at work. Dance as if nobody’s watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you’ll live forever.

6. Focus on Family and Friends. They are life’s greatest treasures so never lose sight of them.

7. When you put forth extra effort in doing things and give more than enough, you'll find self improvement taking place in those around you.

8. Hold tight to your dreams. These little stars will be your driving force to achieving what you want.

9. Think big thoughts. Be the kind of persoon who visualizes success as if it's already happened, and you will achieve it.

10. Be yourself. The #1 key to failure and unhappiness is to try to please everyone.

11. Take action and make things happen. Motivation is when your dreams are put into working clothes.

12. Have the utmost integrity and always play a fair game.

13. Open your eyes to what you want things to be, and how they should be.

14. Practice is about motivation. It lets us learn from our mistakes and it's what makes us perfect.

15. You'll never have success if you quit. Quitters never win. And winners never quit. decide if you are going to be a quitter or a winner?

16. Motivation is about preparation. You must heed the voice telling you to start, know ones going to do it for you.

17. Stop procrastinating. Taking actions creates a cycle of accomplishment.

18. Discipline and self control go hand in hand with motivation. They are key factors in your own self improvement.

19. Strive to understand others. Become a better listener and source of inspiration to others.

20 Practise visualizing it. Trying to get motivation without a vision is like a car without directions.

21. Have a want for it, more then anything. Dreaming means you are believing. It's the core behind improving motivation and yourself.

22. Remember you are unique and you were created for a purpose. What you want to achieve and think you can achieve are the same if you desire them to be.

23. Always pursue your dreams and go for it!

Default Motivated By Loss

I for one am definitely motivated by pain and loss more then financial gain.

Whenever my boss told meto work more overtime and get a promotion tried had
to avoid it. But, when he said the company was facing lay offs I was the first
one asking for more overtime

I agree. There are times where I was beginning to lose hope of my dreams because I had run out of money and became bankrupt, however, I tried to hold on and motivated myself to continue, and here I am, out of bankruptcy. I really like number 23. Pursue your dreams and go with it! That is definently a statement I say often.

Default Motivation through Self Improvement

Beautiful article Sky about using motivation as the key to self improvement.

I especially like...

Number 11: Take action and make things happen. Motivation is when your dreams are put into working clothes.

Number 17: Stop procrastinating. Taking actions creates a cycle of accomplishment.

Default stop procrastinating!

Great article Sky! I'm definitely the queen of procrastination - it's what I work on daily. (actually, I work on not procrastinating... I've got the how to procrastinate down to a science) I literally have to ask myself each day "am I doing what really must be done?"

Because if I didn't, I'd save everything til the last possible minute and then turn into the tasmanian devil.

I've learned to listen to myself - my key indicator that I'm procrastinating is that my stomach starts tying in knots and I get very irratible - just ask my boyfriend

So I force myself to take action, I set a timer to do the work in short bursts and give myself a pep-talk - "you can do this, and you'll have one more thing accomplished" etc.

I even have to do it for housecleaning...

Thanks for those tips Sky. It certainly is a great article. Hi all, this is my first post in here and of course I had to stop by this thread as I love meeting up with like-minded people.

2. Believe in yourself always, and in what you can achieve. - There is no such word as "can't" in my dictionary

11. Take action and make things happen. Motivation is when your dreams are put into working clothes. - Nothing changes if we don't take action, and by taking action and getting involved, we are sure to move things along and achieve our goals.

21. Have a want for it, more then anything. Dreaming means you are believing. It's the core behind improving motivation and yourself. - It's great to dream as without dreams, there is nothing to look forward to... this in itself should get anyone motivated.

I look forward to reading more posts in here.

Cheers

Default Welcome to the Paid Insider

Hi Ange,

Welcome to the forum, it's great to seeing you here. I really enjoyed reading your blog, there's some very inspiring content to read there

"Believe in yourself always, and in what you can achieve." is a great quote. Always believing in yourself will give you the strength for you to achieve everything you set your mind to. The best part is, even before you get there it will have a positive impact on the people around you. I'm striving toward that goal everyday.

Alexis, maybe we could both work together on not procrastinating. I fall for the same trap, and I think a good mastermind group of nonprocrastinators would help us all achieve our goals.

Matt

I am motivated by the will to succeed and the will to not fail. Failure in the long run in unacceptable and I will not tolerate it for myself. You have setups, but you have to get right back up and try again. The excitement of not knowing whether your next plan will work or not is half the fun, it keeps you on your toes at all times.

Default mastermind group

Good for you Archbob! That kind of diligence is what it takes. I like your perspective on getting excitement from whether or not your plan will work. Great attitude.

Matthew, a mastermind group sounds good - I vote for postive people who are goal oriented, willing to create better lives for themselves and their families. Whacha think?
