Default How To Get In Control of Your Life

The first step to getting control of your life is to choose how you view your life.
Life Choice #1: Life happens, you react
Life Choice #2: You are the director of your life
It’s your life, so decide how you want to live it. These two choices produce two extremely different results. The best approach is not to choose which option you like, but choose the option that has the end result you believe is best for you.

End Result of Life Choice #1 – Unknown

It’s impossible to determine the outcome here. Why? Because you’re letting everyone and everything else determine your life’s outcome. The one constant is that you will spend your life reacting to events around you.
But beware: many who choose this road end up considering themselves a victim of life.

It’s easy to spot a Life Choice #1 individual – they’re full of excuses and are quick to blame others. Like why they’re late every day to work (“traffic is horrible”), why they have no job (“nobody will hire me”), why they don’t have supportive relationships (“my parents didn’t teach me who to look for”), and in general, why they just can’t seem to get ahead.

End Result of Life Choice #2 – Known

The outcome here is much better defined because you are in charge. Essentially, your life is a movie, full of main characters, supporting casts, dramatic events, and even a few twists in the plot. The exciting part about Life Choice #2 is that you are also the director in your own life. What do directors do? Edit. Review. Revise. Add comedy, intrigue, wealth, action, love – whatever it is that makes the movie best.

If you choose Life Choice #2, you’ll be easy to spot - you take responsibility for your actions and accept the consequences, both negative and positive. The end result is that your life is yours.

Who’s Your Life Director?

You…or everyone else? (Remember that not making a choice is not an option – it’s a passive way of picking Life Choice #1 - letting life happen.) Now is the time to actively take control of your life. Which path do you choose?

Default think like a winner

It is so true. I know we all get stuck in ruts, but it seems like lots of people are just zombies. I met so many people who are unhappy in their jobs or relationships or situations, but they don't do anything about it. It's like they pretend it doesn't exist. They don't try to fix it or anything.

I think it all boils down to thinking like a winner. We all know winners think, strategize, and plan. Winners, are proactive in the decisions they make. I've got a friend that's a great role model for this.

No matter what, he's always planning into the future. Not just dreaming, but figuring how his dreams will really happen. Don't get me wrong, things aren't always perfect. He's got the regular ups and downs, but he treats everything like it's going to be over soon and he gets to decide where he's going from there. He's always saying "well, I've got this option.. and this option" So he always thinks like a winner.

Default Take Control Of Your Life

I think for many people their life is constantly in #1. They say they are in control but in reality they live without ever thinking about where they want to go.

I know for myself for many years I never really figured out what I wanted to be. So I ended up working many bad dead end jobs.

It's only after I changed my mindset to be more in line with # 2 a known outcome did I start seeing a real change. I much rather prefer being in control of my life, it's a great feeling setting goals and knowing that I'm taking daily steps to get to my destination.

Thanks for the great article

Self-employment is the way to be in control. If you have a regular day job, you have to go to work 9-5 no matter how you put it. You are not on your own schedule. Being self-employed, you may have to work more or harder, but you are on your own schedule.

It is obvious that most of the people want to achieve big in life, like to earn big money. But, very few achieve their goal. The reason for that they didn't control and channelize their life, instead of that they just traveled the path where life drags them. For me, Achievers are not the one who travels on the path, the one who create it.
