It’s a horrible sight, to open up your email and see the message that you've been Google Adsense Banned.
![]() Many people who receive this message know exactly why it’s happened, by abusing the Google terms of service. Doing things like clicking your own ads, or engaging in asking people to click your ads can definitly get you in trouble. It’s easy to say well anyone who gets their account disabled probably deserved it. However, I’ve become aware of an alarming trend. Google is frequently disabling the accounts of people who do not know how it happened, or what they did wrong. How do I know this? Well, I’ve heard from people on my internet marketing forum, in email comments and in customers I’ve coached over the years. One of the most recent examples happened just this week. I was instructing a good friend on how to set up a Hubpage to create an online presence and drive traffic to her website. One of the benefits of Hubpages is you can make money from Ebay, Amazon, and you guessed it… Adsense. Well, lo and behold not three days after she had put up her hub (which was doing quite well), and with no explanation, her Adsense account was disabled. Here’s the message she received… “While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account. Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions about your account or the actions we’ve taken, please do not reply to this email. You can find more information by visiting google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=57153&hl=en_US. Sincerely, The Google AdSense Team” Gotta love that last part, don’t call us we’ll call you, not. I instructed her to contact Google and ask what she could do to get back in good standing, and to tell them that she values the relationship with them and she will continue to do everything possible to comply with their TOS. I told her to explain her situation and appeal for help with re-instating her account. Unfortunately in 99% of the cases I’ve heard of an Adsense account that’s terminated is not reinstated and a canned response is given. Not a great way to treat people. Here’s a link to a post I wrote titled, Banned from Adsense what do I do? As more and more people hear that using Google’s AdSense program, could be here today gone tomorrow, more are turning to Adsense alternatives. Luckily, there are many alternatives to AdSense which can turn this bad situation around. Here is a list of some of the best Alternatives to Adense: Yahoo Publisher Network - Yahoo! How to Get Your Adsense Account Back If you've fallen victim to having your Adsense account banned, then you know it’s a rotten feeling. Before you give up on them, I recommend you attempt to send a letter explaining your side of the story. It’s possible to get your Adsense account back by explaining the following: 1. Thst You value the relationship with Adsense. 2. You will do everything possible to comply with their terms of service 3. That the invalid clicks they detected on your ads were not due to your actions or negligence You can submit your responses for your Adsense appeal from this link: https://www.google.com/adsense/suppo..._clicks_appeal If you’ve been Google Adsense banned and then had your account reinstated, let us know how it went, and how you did it.

After my adsense account was banned, without any known cause or any recourse on my part, except for the joke commonly known as the adsense appeal form, I started to wonder if there was anyone trying to hold google accountable for how they are treating us publishers, advertisers and users..
After many hours researching the subject online (using google ), I discovered hundreds of stories just like mine or very similar. I also found sites (eg suck(s) sites) that are activly hostile toward google and are working to convince people not to use the search giant.. And while I know where this comes from, I didn't feel like it was an effective way to deal with google. What we need is something that will actually embarass the big "G" into changing it's ways. That is why I started the Google Horror Stories web site. It is not intended to bring google down or to really even hurt it in any way. It is sole intended to "shine a light" on the underbelly of the beast. It's a place where people who feel like they have been burned by google unfairly or who have had a negitave experience can post their stories in article form. I would be very interested in republishing the above information, on my site, as I have a section dedicated to google alternatives. But I will only do that with persmission. Thanks |

Hey Wayne, Thanks for your comment. Yes, you can republish the article above as long as you credit this site
with the info Yeah, being google adsense banned seems to becoming more frequent these days. The problem is that with as big as Google has become, they tend to paint people with a broad brush. In the process banning many people who may not deserve it, or even have a clue what they did wrong. I think they need to do a much better job keeping a level playing field for all people, not just Google insiders and big corporations in regards to search engine results, link sales and advertising.
