Default Submit Your Site to Directories

Ok you want your site to show up higher in search engine rankings and just for kicks want that little green Google Page Rank bar to move up for your website. So, what do you do?

One of the easiest ways I’ve found to get a little extra search engine juice is to submit your site to directory submission sites. Now, you can choose to do the process of directory submission the easy way or the hard way depending on how much time or money you want to expend.

If you are in the same position I was when I started out online you’ll probably opt for an expenditure of time over money. If thats the case, here’s a link to a free directory submission software download that will get you started:

http://www.freedirectorysubmitter.co...ySubmitter.zip

This directory submitter allows you to filter out pages that are below any specific pagerank. This is useful for finding high pr directories that will give your site a good one way incoming link with pr5 or higher.

One of the most powerful directories on the internet is found at: ODP - Open Directory Project and is definitely recommended for inclusion during your site submission process. They will give your site some great exposure if you’re lucky enough to get accepted.

Now when it comes to paid submissions not all services are worth their price. I’ve used some very inexpensive directory submission services that have shown small results as well as expensive services that have shown less value. Here are some of the more popular directory submission services:

Yahoo Directory: Yahoo! Directory Suggest a Site

The Yahoo paid directory is pretty pricey for me at $299 but due to recent changes in Yahoo’s search algorithm, it may be a good deal. Yahoo has recently begun giving extra points to websites listed in their directory which has resulted in a change to what sites are showing in their results.

If your targeting a broad market Yahoo Directory is probably not the best choice. However if you’ve got a specific product you might have a lot to gain by paying the submission price.

Another choice is to use the GoGuides directory - Add URL - They have a one time review fee of $69.95 USD.

01webdirectory.com - 01Webdirectory.com - Best of Web Directory - Their Priority Express Submission is $49 (One Time Fee)

An inexpensive directory submission service I’ve used in the past is located at: Manual Directory Submission Service & Article Submission - SEO Solutions
They have great pricing and directory submissions usually only take a few days.
